Tuesday, March 24th in Hungary

Salbus (Hello), from Foldes, Hungary. We are in our second week already. I can not believe that time is flying by so quickly. Monday, we went to Debrecen to sign paperwork to start the adoption process. We did not hesitate. Then we tried to find a bank, which ended up to be a challenge and turned into a crazy afternoon. Exchanging money can be difficult if you are not in Budapest. It can also be frustrating because some places prefer the Euro, but the forint is accepted everywhere. We are getting very good at watching the whole financial scene unfold around the world and the fluctuation of the Dollar versus the Euro or Forint.

We put our lives once again in the hands of Laci Ba’csi when we road with him into Debrecen. God is really protecting us because the man does not know the difference between a road and a sidewalk!!!!!! I am not kidding. He drives like a crazy man. On the flip side we have grown very fond of the man. He really cares for us and the children we are adopting.

On to the visit yesterday (Monday) with the children. They are becoming very close to us in spirit. They are beginning to wander what is up? They ask us when they are coming with us to Budapest? We are told to say we do not know. It is hard for me because I am a straight forward person who tells the truth and does not hold back very well. Tom is laughing at me now!!!! I enjoy spending time with the children, but I would like to be the Mommy now. It is hard being in the shadows. The foster family is very gracious to us beyond words!!!!! They feed us and feed us and feed us. It must be a Hungarian thing because when we visit Tom’s family, it is the same way! I can not seem to control myself because the food is very different than American, but extremely delicious. The pastries are out of this world. The bread is utterly amazing. The chocolate is divine. We will email again soon. Chuckalum. (Hugs and kisses)
